Sedona, AZ: Sedona Arts Academy (SAA) announces Wine 101 – The Pacific Wine Zone
with Steve Bailey, The Mayor of Wine on February 23 and Herschell Turner art Exhibit is
still available to view. SAA is located in The Collective Sedona in the Village of Oak Creek.
Join us on February 23 for Wine 101, - Pacific Wine Zone a wine tasting, and education
class presented by Steve Bailey, The Mayor of Wine. Steve has been in the wine business for
more than 30 years. He is a Certified Sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers, and a
Certified Specialist of Wine. His is also certified as an Italian Wine Specialist and holds a
Level 3 certification with the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET). The Wine 101
course will include education about understanding wine, including varietal types, and how
to select the proper wine. Steve will discuss everything from selecting a glass and opening
the wine to how to taste it, assess it, serve it and preserve it.
Wine 101 takes place on February 23 from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $45 per
person and include a charcuterie board, a free wine glass and six Oregon, Washington and
California wines in the tasting. SAA will be following COVID-19 guidelines, so attendance is
limited to 20 people. Social distancing and appropriate face masks are required. Tickets are

About the artist:
Herschell C Turner, born in the late ‘30s, grew up in the 1950s and 60s experiencing, first-hand the Jim Crow racism of pre-civil-rights America. His favorite subjects Barack Obama, Nelson Mendela, Martin Luther King Jr and other activist. His work includes the African ethnicity, African-Americans as jazz musicians, activists, sports heroes, comedians and entertainers painting a vivid picture of history during his lifetime.He was also known to take request, such as his Tina Turner or Chaka Khan portraits for a friend.Herschell’s friends include Oscar Robertson, high school competitors in Michigan and Nebraska, where Herschell was All Big 8 player and drafted by Syracuse Nationals of the ABA as a point guard. Word is, he was a mean point guard with same mentality of a Michael Jordan. Turner also played for the Harlem Globetrotters. His dedication to justice and universal human rights led him to accept community leadership roles, directing most of his attention to improving lives and opportunities of those lives reflected in the way his own began.

Herschell C. Turner is a true renaissance man whose life has mirrored the eclectic images in his works of fine art. Throughout his works, one can find the African American experience.

Shelita Burns, an African-American editor, publishes Bee-luther-hatchee, the autobiography of a reclusive 72-year-old black woman named Libby Price. Shelita has never met Libby, and when the book wins a prestigious award she decides to deliver it to her in person. To her profound shock, the actual author of the book is a white man named Sean Leonard.

RULES AND PROCEDURES
The following rules and procedures have been set forth and established by Gigi Rock Productions, LLC (henceforth referred to as GRP) for the purpose of the 2020 Verde Valley Gingerbread House Competition.
Please read the rules and procedures carefully and retain these sheets for your records.
Due to space, only a limited number of entries will be accepted into the competition. You are
encouraged to submit your entry form early and before the deadline to ensure entry into the competition. GRP reserves the right to refuse any entry deemed inappropriate. For additional questions, please contact Gigi Rock, grock@grockproductions.com
INDIVIDUAL ENTERING & QUALIFYING GUIDELINES
To be eligible for the competition, a completed and signed copy of Competitor Entry Form A must be received by email to 5pm on November 10, 2020. Entries that are not pre-registered will not be accepted. Competitors will receive a confirmation email containing their entry number upon receipt of completed Competitor Entry Form A. Each participant may only submit one entry. Entry Description Form B and optional photos are due no later than check-in on entry registration day.
TEAM ENTERING & QUALIFYING GUIDELINES
To be eligible for the competition, a completed and signed copy of Competitor Entry Form A and Team Entry Participant Form C must be received by email, prior to 5pm on November 10, 2020. Please submit one complete copy of Competitor Entry Form A per team including only the team captain’s contact information. In the case of school groups entering the competition, the classroom teacher should be listed as the team captain and provide his/ her contact information. Please submit a list of all team participants using Team Entry Participant Form C. A signature from a parent or legal guardian will be required for each team member under 18 years of age.
In the event a team entry wins a prize, the team captain will be the recipient of any prizes. Distribution of ribbon or splitting of any prize will be left to the team captain to determine. We are not able to supply ribbons for each participant. If individuals working on a team entry are of different ages that would place them in different categories independently, the team must enter in the appropriate category for the oldest individual in the group. Entry Description Form B and photos are due no later than check-in on entry registration day.
CANCELLATION POLICY
GRP understands that situations may cause competitors to withdraw from the competition. In the event you are no longer able to compete, please inform GRP by phone 928-284-8657, or email grock@grockproductions.com.
